📉 Stock Futures Slip on Sunday Night / Monday morning
U.S. stock futures dipped Monday, signaling a breather after the S&P 500 capped its longest winning streak in more than 20 years. ❌ President Trump vows to extend ‘Tik Tok’ ban deadline
Trump wants to give TikTok more time, again. Despite the 2024 law mandating a U.S. sale or nationwide ban, he’s extended the deadline another 75 days, citing a "warm spot" for the app and its role in his youth vote. “I focused on TikTok… I won young people by 36 points,” he said in a recent interview.

Warren Buffett is stepping down. At 94, the legendary “Oracle of Omaha” shocked shareholders by announcing he’ll retire as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway at the end of the year.

After taking over a struggling textile company in 1965, Buffett turned it into a trillion-dollar empire.

Now, as he prepares to pass the torch, PBS News took a look at some of his best, and worst, investment moves:

📈 Buffett’s Best Bets:

• Apple: He invested over $31 billion starting in 2016, calling it a consumer brand, not a tech play. At one point, the stake swelled to $174 billion.

• Coca-Cola, AmEx, Bank of America: Bought in tough times, held for decades. Combined, they’ve made $100+ billion in gains, not counting dividends.

• See’s Candy: Acquired for $25 million in 1972. It helped Buffett shift from buying cheap businesses to buying great ones at fair prices.

• BYD (China): Bet $232M on EVs in 2008. At its peak, the stake hit $9 billion.

• Insurance companies like GEICO: Gave Buffett access to massive “float”, $173 billion, to reinvest and grow the company.

• Berkshire Hathaway Energy: Steady, regulated income. Pulled in $3.7 billion in 2024 alone.

📉 His Worst Moves:

• Dexter Shoe: Bought for $433M in stock, total loss. Buffett says it was his biggest blunder.

• Missed tech giants: Passed on Amazon, Google, Microsoft. Called it “sucking my thumb.”

• Sold banks too soon: Dumped Wells Fargo and JPMorgan pre-COVID. Both doubled after.

• Original Berkshire textile mills: Lost money for years, but the shares he bought at $7 each? Now worth over $800,000.
