Good Morning!

☕ I've officially been doing Halloween wrong.

For years, I've been driving to the grocery store, buying three pumpkins, and putting them on my front porch.

Total investment: $25.

Total effort: seven minutes.

Apparently, I could've been charging my neighbors $2,000 to do the same thing. 😂

Meet Brandi Hazelett.

She's a stay-at-home mom from Lockhart, Texas, who started a business called Porch In Season.

Her specialty?

Putting pumpkins on people's porches.

I'm not kidding.

Her packages start around $200, with popular arrangements costing $570.

And her most expensive installation?

$2,000.

For 124 pumpkins and five hay bales.

I did the math.

That's more than $15 per pumpkin, even before accounting for the hay.

At those prices, I'm surprised the pumpkins don't come with dental insurance.

But here's what makes this story brilliant.

Brandi isn't really selling pumpkins.

She's selling convenience.

Customers don't have to shop for them, haul them home, arrange them, or clean everything up afterward.

She handles the work.

And that work is substantial. Some installations take up to six hours.

She's even sourcing thousands of pumpkins from Texas farms.

Meanwhile, another Texas entrepreneur, Heather Torres, turned a similar idea into Porch Pumpkins, a business that now serves more than a thousand homes in a season.

Think about that.

Neither woman invented pumpkins.

Neither needed a revolutionary technology.

They simply recognized something people wanted and built a service around it.

That's entrepreneurship.

Find a problem people will pay you to solve. Then solve it better than they can themselves.

Of course, $2,000 in sales isn't $2,000 in profit. There are pumpkins to buy, trucks to fuel, and plenty of labor.

Still, it's a remarkable business idea.

I told my wife I was considering launching my own pumpkin decorating service.

She said, "You haven't even taken down last year's Christmas lights."

Perfect. My first customer can pay me to take those down, too. 🤷

The Robot Boom Is Here. Which Company Comes Out on Top?

Robots are moving into factories, warehouses and hospitals faster than most people realize. When a new industry takes off like this, the instinct is to buy a basket of names and hope one of them hits.

The trouble is that baskets dilute your winners. In a lot of booms, a single company ends up taking the lion's share, while everyone holding the other six watches from the sidelines.

Our report names the one robot company we think comes out on top, and explains why. It normally sells for $19.99, but today it's free. Opt in and we'll also text you alerts on the stock, so you don't miss a move.

Your thoughts

PEOPLE LOOK TO THE STARS TO HELP THEIR LOVE LIFE. SO WHY NOT THEIR BANK ACCOUNT?

FORGET THE FED. CHECK THE MOON.

THERE’S A STOCK MARKET STRATEGY THAT STARTS WITH LOOKING UP. 🌕

Most investors study earnings reports.

This strategy studies the night sky.

The idea: stocks may perform differently depending on whether there’s a full moon or a new moon.

And yes, real researchers have studied this.

One study examined stock markets in 48 countries and found that, during its historical sample, returns tended to be lower around full moons than around new moons.

So the researchers even tested a hypothetical trading strategy based on the lunar cycle.

Imagine calling your financial adviser:

“Should I buy or sell?”

“Hold on. I need to step outside.”

🌕 Full moon? Check your portfolio.

🌑 New moon? Check your portfolio.

☁️ Cloudy? Apparently, your retirement will have to wait.

Now, before you fire your accountant and hire an astronomer, there’s a catch.

The study found a historical pattern. It did not prove the moon caused it, or that a lunar trading strategy will work in the future.
