𤯠Wednesday's Fed Meeting Will Be Extraordinary
The Fed is all but certain to cut interest rates by 0.25% this week, shifting focus from inflation to a rapidly weakening labor market thatās shed over 900,000 jobs in revisions. Despite inflation still running above the Fedās 2% target, policymakers see job losses as the more urgent threat, and may signal more cuts ahead. The meeting is also politically charged: Trumpās controversial attempt to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook could disrupt the voting process, while his pressure for deeper cuts clashes with the Fedās cautious stance. All eyes are now on the Fedās updated projections, which could reveal an accelerated rate-cut path for the rest of the year.
š China says Nvidia violated anti-monopoly law
Chinaās market regulator just hit Nvidia with a preliminary anti-monopoly violation linked to its 2020 Mellanox acquisition. The investigation, which could strain ongoing U.S.-China trade talks, comes as tensions escalate over tech control.
