📉 Stocks Close Slightly Lower as Rebound Rally Stumbles
Markets took a step back Thursday after a small rally following the FED meeting, with the S&P 500 dipping 0.2%, Nasdaq down 0.3%, and the Dow barely slipping. Not much fresh news drove the pause, just a breather after a big Fed-fueled bounce the day before.

But Friday’s futures? Sliding again.

  • Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq futures all dropped 0.3%

  • Investors are now digesting confusing Fed signals and Trump’s new tariffs set to hit April 2.

Nike to post worst revenue fall in 5 years
Nike just posted its sharpest revenue drop in nearly five years, as American shoppers pulled back on spending for sneakers and sportswear. App downloads plunged 35%, store traffic fell 11%, and investors weren’t feeling it, shares slid 4% pre-market Friday. The company beat low earnings expectations, but new CEO Elliott Hill has his hands full. CFO Matthew Friend flagged a massive hit to margins, warning Trump's 20% China tariffs will bite hard in Q4.

🧑‍✈️ Heathrow Shutdown Hits Travel Stocks, IAG Drops 2.3%
European Travel stocks took a hit Friday, with the sector dropping nearly 2% after London’s Heathrow Airport shut down due to a fire at a nearby substation. IAG, British Airways’ parent company, fell 2.3% in early London trading. Citi weighed in, noting the disruption could echo the £80M blow from a 2017 outage, though this time, compensation may be limited since the incident was out of the airline’s control.

If the closure drags on, costs could climb fast.

😲 Tesla Cybertruck recalled over panel that can fly off in traffic
Tesla’s recalling nearly every Cybertruck made, over 46,000 units, because a stainless steel panel might fly off mid-drive, according to U.S. regulators. The Cybertruck, which Elon Musk touted as a symbol of engineering muscle, has now faced multiple recalls for issues like faulty pedals and wipers. This time, the trim panel can delaminate and detach, raising major safety flags.

💰️ The Smartest High-Yield Stocks to Buy Right Now
Markets have stumbled hard lately, with both the Nasdaq and S&P 500 sliding into correction territory, and investors are starting to whisper “bear market.” But instead of panicking, some are looking to steady dividend plays. Here are 2 high yield stocks that could be worth buying.

Trump Invokes Defense Production Act to Revitalize Domestic Mineral Production

President Trump is turning to emergency powers to jump-start domestic mineral production, aiming to make the U.S. less dependent on foreign imports, especially from China. Through an executive order signed Thursday, Trump invoked the Defense Production Act, unlocking financing and support for projects involving critical minerals and rare earth elements.

The move directs federal agencies to streamline permitting, prioritize mining on federal land, and boost coordination with the private sector to secure a stable U.S. supply chain. The order could even extend to coal, with the administration seeking energy and resource dominance across minerals like uranium, copper, potash, and gold.

China currently dominates rare earth processing, raising red flags for U.S. national security. The White House says America is import-reliant for at least 15 key minerals, including 91% of potash and nearly all of its uranium.

Markets reacted fast: U.S.-based MP Materials jumped 4.6%, while Peabody Energy gained over 2%. Meanwhile, Australian and Chinese miners took a hit, with names like Liontown and Syrah dropping as much as 9.8%.

Trump isn’t the first to act here, Biden used the same powers in 2022, but this order broadens the scope and urgency behind building U.S. resource independence.
