The Consumer Price Index results are in and Inflation in the U.S. took a little breather in May, clocking in at 4.0%. It's still on the high side, but it's actually lower than the 4.9% we had in April. On the other side of the world, China's central bank decided to give their short term borrowing rates a little trim to boost their economy.
Apple Inc. is flying high as their shares reached record prices on Monday, and speaking of flying high - Boeingโs CEO revealed some game-changing tech for their new place development, but is that enough to make their stock a buy?

U.S. inflation eases to 4.0% in May (2 minute read)
Inflation in the U.S. actually slowed down a bit, giving the Federal Reserve something to think about. The consumer price index, which measures how prices change, went up by 4.0% compared to last year. It's still high, but hey, it's lower than the 4.9% we had in April. This might just make the Fed hit the pause button on their tightening campaign.

Apple Shares Close at Record in Latest Sign of Big Techโs Dominance (2 minute read)
Apple Inc. (AAPL) shares reached an all-time high on Monday. The shares climbed 1.6% and closed at a cool $183.79. Apple even set an intraday record after revealing their Vision Pro mixed-reality headset last week. These gains have pushed Apple's 2023 advance to over 41%, outpacing the Nasdaq 100 Index, which is at 35%. Itโs historically been loved by investors no matter what's going on in the market - being seen as a safe haven, a champion of balance-sheet strength, capital-return programs, and durable revenue streams.
China cuts short-term borrowing costs to support recovery (5 minute read)
China's central bank just pulled off a little rate-lowering magic trick! It's the first time they've done it 10 months. They're trying to bring back that market mojo and give a boost to their economy, which has been feeling a bit sluggish post-pandemic. This rate cut might just be the start of more good things to come. If demand and investor sentiment keep going downhill, we might see longer-term rates getting cut too.
Boeing CEO Hints at New Plane Technology That Could Be Game-Changing (7 minute read)
Boeing's (BA) CEO, Dave Calhoun, revealed that composites will be a major player in their airplane development. That's music to the ears of composite manufacturers like Hexcel (HXL)! But hold on a sec, before you hit that "buy" button on their stock - Boeing and Airbus (EADSY) aren't exactly in a rush to whip up a brand-new plane at the moment. So, is this enough to make the stock a buy?

You know what's cooler than being average? Having a funky-colored car! Turns out, those bold and vibrant vehicles hold their value in the resale market. While the value of the average car drops a hefty 22.5% in just three years, some colorful cars like the yellow ones have got it figured out. They only lose around 13.5% of their value.
