The stock market rally isn't over yet, Deutsche Bank strategist says (4 minute read)While the recent stock market rally looks to be on shaky ground, Deutsche Bank says staying the course makes sense into the New Year as the Federal Reserve dials back the pace of its interest rate hikes. "We look for rates volatility to fall as the Fed slows the speed of hiking and as policy rates are closer to eventual terminal rates," Deutsche Bank strategist Binky Chadha wrote in a note on Tuesday. Chadha's research shows that stocks have tracked interest rate volatility in the past few months, and he expects that trend to continue moving forward and benefit stocks.
China COVID crisis prompts sharp falls in oil and stock markets (5 minute read)Stock markets in Asia have seen sharp falls while a recent easing in oil prices gained new momentum on Monday in reaction to growing COVID lockdowns and public protests against them in China. Crude futures were 3% down on the day at $81 a barrel. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dived by more than 4% at the open before ending the session 1.6% lower. Equity markets across Asia generally were down, with China's CSI300 Index also about 2% off despite central bank action on Friday aimed at shoring up market liquidity.

Freedom May Not Be Priceless: Consider Going To Jail For Money (10 minute read)"Since 2012, I’ve been arguing that freedom is priceless. After giving up a healthy income and my career for more freedom, how could it not be?". Freedom is valued differently at different ages - Given time is finite, the value of freedom tends to appreciate the older we get. Contrary to popular belief, there is no universal value of freedom.
